PINTO X MARCEL WANDERS - One Minute Delft Black Vase No. 9

This vase plays on nuance. Sometimes dense, sometimes diluted, the pigment shifts from deep black to soft greys that veil the earthenware like a wash. A broad dark sweep stretches across the shoulder, while finer, almost watercolour touches run down the ribs. The neck is spattered with small marks.

Here Marcel Wanders revisits One Minute Delft, the language born in 2006 from his fascination with Delftware. For PINTO, the blue disappears and black takes its place. Several firings at Royal Delft fix these nuances beneath the glaze: painted in one minute, the piece is unique and signed.
