At Galerie Aveline in Paris, Fahad Hariri, Chairman and Creative Director of PINTO, brings together three centuries of collecting and creation, transforming the antique gallery into the atmosphere of a collector’s home. Large rugs, generous PINTO sofas and comfortable seating turn the gallery into a lieu de vie: intimate, layered and lived-in. Antiques are no longer simply objects to contemplate, but become part of an interior. 18th-century Imari porcelain meets the great French Japonisme of the late 19th century, particularly Gabriel Viardot, alongside a circa-1949 walnut-and-brass console by Melchiorre Bega, contemporary PINTO creations and paintings by Aya Takano and Mr. Two mannequins dressed in Yohji Yamamoto, with Yamamoto jewellery, appear almost as contemporary sculptures, creating a striking dialogue with the historical Japanese and Japoniste pieces around them. PINTO’s future is woven into the same rooms: a coffee table created with Marc-Antoine Goulard sits among the antiques, while the sculptural bronze-and-glass DES TRESSES table welcomes visitors at the entrance. The Hariri Aesthetic is less about a period or an expression than about the freedom to mix them, making objects separated by centuries live together.
