DES TRESSES

PINTO X FH

Fahad Hariri who has collaborated with the Pinto house for over five years, has chosen to immerse himself in the creative process of the collections. His imagination, thought, and impulse unfold upon the foundation of the artisans’ craftsmanship and the agency’s heritage expertise.

This new collection of furniture and objects explores the theme of the braid, inspired by the woven structure of the raffia mat — a traditional object of nomadic cultures. Braiding is an ancestral gesture; drawing proves unnecessary for conceiving the project. One must patiently approach its realization by creating prototypes to guide the design.

The intertwining strands close upon themselves, forming a structure through movement. Under Hariri’s guidance, this living manipulation generates free-form volumes. The fragility of the created whole — an ephemeral web — solidifies during the bronze casting process, carried out by the artisans of Ateliers Saint-Jacques and Fonderie de Coubertin.

The collection is deployed around several typologies: pedestal table with glass top, tables, console, centerpiece, candle holder and mirror. It is completed by two major pieces: a walnut chest of drawers, the front of which is animated by woven bronze handles, and a large inlaid dining room table, inspired by the chicken wire motif.

The birth of this collection confirms Fahad Hariri’s taste for dissonance — the union of opposites. He combines the refinement of ultra-luxury with the primal energy of the original gesture.
