Spices

A unique range of over one hundred spices and herbs



Rare spices, pepper from around the world (Sarawak, Penja, Muntok, …), salt and fleur de sel sea salt from a variety of different locations.

Pure saffron in filaments, directly imported from Iran at a very reasonable price but of exceptionally high quality.

Smell our Bourbon or Tahiti vanilla and be transported to a tropical island paradise.

All sorts of salt and fleur de sel : sea salt: Maldon, Camargue, Guérande, Ile de Ré, …

Combining spices is an art and Gérard Pinto will gladly share some of his secrets with his customers, through his house spice mixes :

Garriguette :

the flavours of the Mediterranean countryside combined to add sunshine to your summer recipes (grilled meats, taboule, fish, pizza, vegetables, tomatoes).

Aromates du pêcheur (Fisherman’s Zest):

Mediterranean flavours for fish dishes and stocks.

Curry des Maharadjahs (Maharajah’s Curry):

A subtle blend, strong and flavoursome, which will surprise you when you cook with it. Use it like salt and pepper to sprinkle on dishes just before you serve.

Mille et une nuits (A thousand and one nights):

A tasty blend to whisk you away to a world of Middle Eastern palaces. Sublime in exotic stewed dishes (tajines, couscous), and, as it contains no chilli pepper, it goes perfectly with vegetables, aubergines, ratatouille.

Epices à desserts (Dessert Spice Mix):

A combination of delicate flavours, delicious in apple pies and tarts, baked apples, rice puddings, crème brulée, sorbets, ice creams.

Mélange des poivriers (Pepper Plant Mix):

A wise combination of selected ground peppers, producing an unequalled aromatic effect.

Poivrier au 7 baies (7 peppercorn mix):

A cocktail of different pepper corns and peppery flavours. A balanced blend which encapsulates the strength of the best peppers and the mildness of the finest pepper corns.

Spécial paëlla (Paella Special):

A saffron-based blend, full of flavour and colour. A must for rice and paella, bouillabaisse and all other fish soups. Ideal for sauces to serve with fish and shellfish.

Epices pain d’épice (the famous gingerbread mix, a key ingredient in "nouvelle cuisine")

A subtle blend with a mild flavour, the secret ingredient for a perfect gingerbread.

Epices à Taboulé (Taboule Spices):

A distinctive mix, to give character to the delicious North African starter.

Epices pour vin chaud (Mulled Wine or Glühwein mix):

A blend of warming spices for the perfect pick-me-up.

Epices pour thé Chaï (Chaï tea spices):
